Beloved friend and accomplished photographer Devin Saurus passed away on January 11th, 2025 at the age of 39. Devin was a pillar of his community. He made friends everywhere and was deeply devoted to them. Whether he was making red beans and rice for the neighborhood, or meeting a stranger on the street, he was fiercely protective of everyone he loved and his depth of care is unparalleled and is so missed. As a child, he had an intense artistic instinct. He developed that talent throughout his life, becoming a widely published photographer. He has left behind an impressive archive of his travels and captured delicate moments of the lives of hundreds of people. Devin was an activist for people and planet and his commitment to improving the lives of others bolstered our city immeasurably.
Devin was the most amazing doggie dad. His babies were his life and he would do anything to be sure they were happy. Devin also loved being an uncle. He would always end a conversation with “Party Hard!”.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that friends donate to the organization Trystereo to support the work that he devoted much of his energy and heart to.
